For those who've been told shut up and sit down;

For those doing what they said you couldn't do;

For the haters, the disavowed;

For anyone who wonders why nothing feels quite right, but don't know what, or how to fix it;

For those who haven't stopped asking WHY??

You're not alone,

You're not crazy.

Existence itself is a mind-warping ball of weirdness, which you never decided to be a part of, yet you have to deal with anyway.

It's like winning the lottery, but then realizing you never even bought a ticket, and then realizing that everyone else also won the lottery, but you only got $17 and some dude over there got a billion.

The culture is VIOLENCE.

And no, I'm not talking about the hundreds shot dead in the streets,

or the thousands killed in our wars.

I'm talking about that incessant need for MORE.

More followers, more productivity, more success. Reaching every day for another goal that's out of reach. And there's always someone ahead of you. It's killing us. And no one seems to care, or even notice.

We can do something, though.

Not making a sign or sending a note to your senator (although there is a time for that, too). No, this thing is older than Jesus, and it's called mindfulness.

Mindfulness is simple: it's the opposite of mindlessness.

Let's just stop.

Stop moving. Stop talking. And stop reading the damn internet. For like two seconds.

Fuck all that. Get quiet. Be still. The truth isn't in a weed high or on Instagram.

It's inside. We only see when we stop trying so hard to figure it all out.

Sometimes, we just think too much.

Mindfulness is the ultimate unfuck.

It's doing exactly the opposite of what the system wants of you.

Don't need fancy money, houses, cars, or clothes. We'll just sit right here naked and enjoy the sunshine.

Hopefully you've made out that it’s normal to feel like a misfit, and that there’s a way to feel less shitty about society’s circumstances, and that it has something to do with mindfulness and meditation. But that probably doesn’t make you feel any better, which is, deep down, what we all want—happiness.
